Kebaya Dining Room offers a sumptuous journey through Peranakan and Straits cuisine in the restored charm of Seven Terraces in George Town. The dining room’s high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and scarlet velvet drapes create a luxe, old-world atmosphere that pairs beautifully with a menu focused on elevated Nyonya classics. Dishes are thoughtfully modernized yet deeply rooted in tradition — delicate, spiced curries, perfectly balanced starters and generous sharing portions that make the set meals ideal for groups or a leisurely dinner. Guests often remark on the polished service and the careful pacing of the meal, which allows you to savour each course like a story unfolding. The restaurant doubles as a cultural encounter: the heritage setting, curated antiques and refined presentation make dining here feel like an immersive evening in Penang’s culinary history. For those seeking Peranakan cuisine presented with finesse and a sense of ceremony, Kebaya Dining Room delivers an indulgent, memorable experience.

in the last weekThe environment was great, the food was pretty good, and I could eat what I wanted. The lamb leg was very tender.

a week agoOne of our highlight evenings in Malaysia. Owner and staff were extremely friendly, explaining to us the dishes we had ordered. Everything tasted great, and the atmosphere was wonderful in the elegantly styled dining room.

a week agoBarely edible food, no idea why the rating is as high as it is. I’d give it zero stars if I could. At no point did we even get asked how our meal was, it was obvious by how much we did not eat but it’s like they aren’t interested in doing better. Maybe they survive on tourists coming once. It’s seriously the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at and I just paid RM 351.91 for that. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we certainly chose the worst place.
