Also known as Cheong Fatt Tze, The Blue Mansion, endures as a living testament to architectural mastery, cultural confluence, and historical grandeur. Indigo Restaurant is located on the 1st floor in the Blue Mansion. The ambiance in the stately room was spacious, amazing & nothing short of pleasant with a very lovely / classy atmosphere. The injection of modern fresh ideas & fusion take on the traditional Peranakan cuisine is mouthwatering, delicious & memorable. Their cuisine is a fine balance of flavours and expert techniques from the chef - a reflection of the ever- evolving Peranakan cooking. Indigo Restaurant offers an excellent dining experience from start to finish. Their dinner set menu features a wide variety of Peranakan options, and every dish was flavourful, exceptional and each dish was prepared with attention to detail and beautifully presented. It completely blew my mind, with every dish bursting with flavours followed by their creative presentations and their desserts are definitely worth saving room for. Thank you for the phenomenal (the best) birthday fusion take on the Onde-Onde cake to celebrate my birthday. Definitely a Michelin star-worthy standard & one of the must-try restaurants in Penang. The service here was prompt, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our many thanks to ARIEPH (Assistant Manager) for your attention to us, your great service & for making our gastronomy dinner at your restaurant very memorable! a week agoSet dinner menu was exceptionally well executed. Only one item didn’t find favour with the 5 of us. But the real gem was Aiman (I may have gotten name wrong)- he was knowledgeable about the menu, the chef’s background, the historic building the restaurant was in and its owner. He made us laugh & was charming; looking for us at the bar where we had a nightcap to make sure we were well taken care of, staying beyond his shift. We were celebrating my birthday and the evening sparkled with great service, good food and fantastic ambience. Bartender deserves a callout too. It makes a difference when restaurant staff are happy and proud of their job and employer!
