Christoph’s brings authentic, homey Austrian food to George Town with a small, intimate dining room and a host who makes you feel like a welcomed guest. The menu focuses on classic dishes—Wiener Schnitzel, Kässpatzle and tender roast beef—served with thoughtful sides like crisp Gurkensalat and freshly baked bread with cheese and homemade spreads. Guests frequently mention the warmth of Christoph and his team: attentive explanations of dishes, friendly conversation and a hospitality that turns a meal into an evening worth remembering. Portion sizes favour sharing, so ordering a few plates to sample is a smart move, and repeat diners often return for the consistency and the comfort-food charm that rivals memories of Europe. Wines and some dishes may be modestly priced compared with what you’d expect abroad, and the small size of the restaurant means reservations or early arrival are wise on busy nights. For anyone craving a taste of Central Europe amidst Penang’s vibrant food scene, Christoph’s is a cozy, reliable choice—trusted by over 109 diners who appreciate genuine Austrian flavours and personable service.

3 weeks agoIntimate restaurant with great wine and food and above all, service. Whilst there is a lot of food options in Penang, and as a 'westerner' who wants to try all the eastern food, do not dismiss this. The sausage and pork chop in particular was excellent. We were very fortunate as we did not reserve a table, but all staff were welcoming and attentive. A must return.

2 months agoMy absolute favourite restaurant in Penang. (And given it is Penang, the competion is considerable) The one place I will always do my best to make time to visit. Food is par excellence, service is first class. Christoph and his wonderful team are excellent hosts!

2 months agoMy wife and I went to Christoph’s a few nights ago and it was such a good time. Besides great food this restaurant is just plain fun. Christoph is an amiable and very amusing host and very professional. We had a chance to chat about wines both on the list and off and he is very knowledgeable. Special mention to Izzan and Yang who were very efficient and helpful. The schnitzel’s was lightly breaded and very authentic and the Austrian “salad” is tops! Sides were tasty and the sausage starter was worth a second helping. Christoph’s is well worth a visit or three.
