Ali Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang is a Beach Street fixture where simplicity meets punchy flavour. This beloved nasi lemak stall wraps fragrant coconut rice in banana leaf and pairs it with a sambal that many describe as fiery, flowing and addictive — the kind of chilli hit that will convert spice-lovers immediately. Portions are deliberately modest (one packet often isn’t enough), which encourages picking up a couple of packets or pairing with neighbouring snacks like prawn fritters for a fuller meal.
Part of the charm here is the authentic, cheerful street-side service: the ladies working the stall bring warmth to the morning rush, making it a dependable start to the day for locals and visitors alike. With an unbeatable price point (many mention packets around RM3), this is a go-to for an honest, affordable Malaysian breakfast in Georgetown. Trusted by over 1,500 diners, Ali Nasi Lemak is perfect if you want a quick, flavorful bite with true local character and an unforgettable sambal.

in the last weekI came here to eat Nasi Lemak and Clay Pot Chicken Rice. For the Nasi Lemak, I chose anchovies and a boiled egg. It was a very delicious Nasi Lemak with a perfect balance of spiciness, sweetness, and umami. It was also very affordable at 3 RM. The Clay Pot Chicken Rice without egg was 7 RM, and it was a sweet soy sauce-based dish with crispy rice at the bottom. It was a little disappointing that there wasn't much chicken.
