in the last weekSecond time here after 3 years and the standard is still on par. Well priced dishes, attentive staff, prompt delivery of food, good portion for sharing and can't fault any of the dishes we ordered. Highly recommended. Also, make a booking and look at the reservation details before making the trip down.

in the last weekWould say this is a great spot for foreigners as a first step to get into the local cuisines. For locals, the taste doesn’t really feel all that special for the price point, and you can probably find similar tasting dishes at other Zhu char restaurants or hawker center for a more affordable price and portion. I do have to give it to them in terms or fragrance it was there, we got the eggplant, chicken rendang, petai and sting ray. The taste was just ok. Service and atmosphere was a plus though!

in the last weekVery good food ! Was really nice. Bad point for the noise: it's REALLY loud. It's hard to speak and exchange with your partner. Also : It's a very good restaurant, but very far from a starred one. It's a BiB Gourmand style adress, a very good one, but not star one.

a week agoAuntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery is a neat place to visit when you're in George Town, providing a high-quality contrast to the local street food scene. The service was fantastic and very efficient; as a walk-in, we were able to get a number and return later, which saved us from standing in line for an hour. Once seated, the staff were incredibly attentive and the food arrived quickly. We ordered several classics including the chicken curry, aubergine, and pie tee, all of which were delicious and beautifully plated. The herbal rice was very fragrant, though it was a bit salty, which made the entire meal lean just a tad too far on the salty side. However, the lovely interior and the overall quality of the experience made it worth the stop, especially since it was so close to our hotel. A special shout-out to the uncle at the cashier—it was really heartening to see him staying involved in the business, and it gave the whole experience a very authentic, family feel.
