4 weeks agoBad experience. Honestly I was so disappointed. My friends and I ordered four drinks, and it came to over RM70 plus. Just four drinks! I honestly can’t believe seeing prices like this in Batu Pahat really shocking. While we were taking photos, a staff member suddenly came over and told us to ‘want take photo can go to the back alley’ because they ‘don’t want to be a viral spot’ and want guests to ‘enjoy the atmosphere.’ The thing is, there was no sign at the entrance or anywhere obvious. We only saw a tiny note near the counter after being stopped. I can accept the café’s rules even though I’ve never seen a café with rules like this, especially one that’s decorated so nicely but what I don’t understand is why there was no sign at the entrance, and why nothing on their online page mentioned that photos or portraits aren’t allowed. Don’t you want tourists or visitors to come and spend money? On top of that, we weren’t told about this at all when we paid. If we had known, we would never have spent money here. Okay, I get not wanting portraits, but the way it was handled completely ruined our mood. Their tone was judgmental and dismissive. The back alley is actually really nice and perfect for photos, and it could have been a highlight of the day. But this small incident ruined our entire day. I can accept rules, but at least communicate them properly instead of treating paying customers like they’re doing something wrong.

4 weeks agoI had a very disappointing experience at this cafe. My friends and I ordered and paid for our drinks, and we were simply taking some casual photos together. However, the male manager suddenly came over and spoke to us in a rude and disrespectful manner. He said the cafe was for enjoying coffee, not for taking photos. Although there was a “No Portrait Photography” sign, we were not doing any professional photography. We were just normal customers taking simple pictures with friends. His attitude completely ruined the atmosphere and made the visit unpleasant.

4 weeks agoHonestly, super disappointed with this cafe. We came in a group, ordered our drinks, and already PAID everything. Then when my friend was just taking some normal photos of us, this male manager suddenly came over and started scolding us in a very rude way. He told us "this cafe is for enjoying coffee, not for taking photos." Like, hello?? This is the most ridiculous reason I’ve ever heard. If you don't allow people to take photos, you should tell us BEFORE we pay, not wait until we already spent our money then only come and show us your bad attitude. The manager was so unprofessional and disrespectful, literally talking to us like we did something very wrong. Even though they have a "No Portrait Photography" sign at the counter, we were just normal customers taking casual shots, not some professional shoot or what. The vibes were totally ruined by his bad attitude. If you want to take some nice photos with your friends, please AVOID this place. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the "scolding" from the manager. Super unhelpful and rude. Zero stars if I could.

4 weeks agoBeautiful café, but the experience was disappointing. My friends and I ordered 4 drinks worth over RM70, then got suddenly stopped by staff while taking photos because “indoor portrait photography is not allowed.” The problem is — there were barely any clear notices about this rule. Nothing obvious at the entrance or inside the café area. We only found a small notice near the counter afterwards. If this policy is so important, customers should be informed clearly BEFORE ordering, not after they’ve paid and started enjoying the space. What made it worse was the staff’s approach. The tone and facial expression came across as judgmental and dismissive, as if customers taking photos were somehow embarrassing or annoying. I understand wanting to protect other customers’ dining experience, but poor communication ruined ours instead. For a café that clearly attracts people with its aesthetic interior, this policy feels poorly handled and honestly quite frustrating.
