When filling out the visit plan on the homepage, I also booked the Hard Knock (plate-making experience) before visiting. It had been 10 years since my last visit, and compared to back then, the visitor number and reservation management systems were well-organized. There is a cafe inside, but the prices were on the expensive side, and the variety of food and pastries was limited. The restroom next to the cafe was unusable, so only the restrooms outside were available. I paid for the Hard Knock class for the children at 11:10 and asked for the location to use the restroom, but I was told, "You must enter now. The class has already started." When I mentioned that I had booked the 11:30 class on the website, she replied, "The slot is currently 11:10. If you don't enter now, it starts at 11:40." There was absolutely no such explanation before payment. When I said I would take the 11:40 class because the children needed to use the restroom, the receptionist sighed and marked 11:40 on the receipt. The service lacked even the slightest bit of kindness toward a visitor, and it left a very bad impression. The instructor for the Hard Knock class was a male employee who was very kind and skilled. He didn't look Chinese, but I was impressed by his fluency in both English and Chinese. The pewter products are so expensive that they are practically too burdensome to purchase. It had been 10 years since my last visit, but I left with a bad impression because of the receptionist.

Royal Selangor Visitor Centre is a great place for tourists who want to learn about Malaysia’s pewter-making heritage. The free guided tour is interesting and informative, with a chance to see craftsmen at work and explore the museum. The hands-on pewter workshop is especially fun, and there is also a shop for unique Malaysian souvenirs. A worthwhile visit in Kuala Lumpur!
