Chim by Chef Noom — A Luxurious Tasting of Thai Tradition in KL

A Place That Whispers Grandeur

Hidden on the second floor of Menara TSLAW, Chim by Chef Noom feels like entering a private gallery, where each tray and table setting is curated for both the eyes and soul. It’s Thai fine dining sculpted with precision and reverence.

From Bangkok’s Stardom to KL’s Elegance

Created by the Michelin-starred Chef Noom — the same visionary behind Bangkok’s Chim by Siam Wisdom — this flagship in KL brings his signature storytelling through food to Malaysian diners.

A Tasting Journey, Not Just a Meal

The menu unfolds like chapters in a cultural memoir — each course is a dialogue between Thai street flavors, royal heritage, and modern mastery. Take “The Lost Recipe,” a 200-year-old royal tom yum rediscovered and reimagined, its balance of herbs and tang still lingers on my tongue.

The price tag reflects its rarity — around RM600++ per guest for the tasting menu. Private dining, ideal for special celebrations, starts at RM5,000 for six people.

Why I Was Moved

  • Atmosphere — refined, understated, and drenched in muted elegance.
  • Culinary Craft — each dish balances Thai tradition with creative plating and Japanese ingredients.
  • Emotion — it’s food that speaks history, culture, and innovation in every bite.

My Last Thought

Chim by Chef Noom isn’t just a meal—it’s a moment suspended in time. It’s where heritage becomes tasting notes and history becomes heart. If you want Thai fine dining that resonates, this is your destination.

We had a wonderful fine dining experience at Chim by Chef Noom. The service was attentive from start to finish — from the receptionist to service staff, who patiently explained each dish and the story behind it, and gave us a professional explanation of the wine we chose. After each course, they checked in for our feedback in a genuinely professional manner. The staff were remarkably observant too: when they noticed we'd brought our own tissues after the hot tomyam, they immediately brought us more, and when my wife's napkin fell, it was replaced right away. Everyone was polite and professional throughout, and the chef personally came out to share the meaning behind the main dish with us. We were also treated to a complimentary anniversary dessert, which was a lovely touch. The menu was delicious and full of pleasant surprises. We especially loved the scallop and tomyam soup, cooked in a way we've never encountered at any other Thai restaurant. The beef main course was tender and beautifully paired with the curry. The river prawn and lobster were generously portioned, with succulent, plump meat in every bite. If there's one area for improvement, it would be the dessert. Presentation-wise, it was beautiful — a clever mango-shaped creation made entirely of chocolate — but the taste itself was fairly plain and didn't stand out much from what we've had elsewhere. We'd love to see something more signature, perhaps with a distinct Thai twist or a dish unique to the restaurant. Overall, a very good experience — 4.5/5 stars.

Really enjoyed the flavours here. The spices and different flavours blend so well together, and everything is wonderfully fragrant and aromatic. Each dish has its own character but still comes together beautifully. Sharing some of my most favourite dishes on that night.
