a week agoStayed here very recently and I already miss this place. It is a small luxury hotel and has a cosy and intimate atmosphere. My room came with a complimentary spa body massage for both my husband and myself; for this itself I felt was worth my stay. The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast was standard and so were the rooms. The beauty of this hotel is in the service and the nostalgic feeling it brings.

2 weeks agoI should have looked at the one-star reviews before booking. The positives: Friendly staff, good breakfast, hotel interior and style interesting, decent location. Parking is in a free lot next door, so close by but no covering. The negatives: Old and/or cheap piping and thin walls. OMG...A few minutes after we check in, we heard what we thought was the bathtub turning on by itself somehow. Actually, it was the neighbor turning on his bathtub; it just felt like it was coming inside our room because it was so loud. Not an exaggeration (check out the one-star reviews). Anytime our neighbor turned on water, we heard it loud and clear, as if the piping in our room is connected to the other room which may be the case. On top of that, the walls are as thin as paper. We could hear conversations coming from the neighboring rooms. Our last night kept us up until 4am. Sadly, we won't be staying here again even though we live in KL.

3 weeks agoFantastic heritage hotel that's part of the history of Malacca. The service at the hotel was impeccable. The rooms are well equipped and clean with a colonial theme. The location is quite central, and it's a 12-minute walk to the main tourist trap of Jonkers street. A great way to sample the food and check out the shops along the way. At the time of this writing, the pandemic has taken its toll and any shops have shuttered.
