Seafood with a Local Kick in Perkampungan Portugis, Melaka

葡萄牙村好运来海鲜7 Pescados sits right in the heart of Perkampungan Portugis and has become a go-to spot in Melaka for anyone craving well-executed, flavorful coastal dishes. Diners regularly praise the warm hospitality — the owner is known to make guests comfortable (yes, even by moving a big aircon to your side) — and the casual, tidy setting makes it a relaxed place for lunch or dinner. The kitchen focuses on fresh seafood prepared with bold local flavors: standout plates include the zesty kamhiong lala, the smoky and satisfying ikan pari, and the fragrant otak otak that many say pairs perfectly with rice. Expect bright, punchy seasoning and clean ingredients that highlight the sea’s freshness, though some visitors note the prices lean toward the higher side for the area. Practical tip: the venue is comfortable overall but mosquitoes can be present even indoors, so bringing insect patches or repellent helps keep the meal distraction-free. With a steady stream of guests and a strong local following, this restaurant is trusted by over 1,000 diners who come back for the lively flavors and personable service. Whether you’re a local looking for reliable seafood with a local twist or a visitor exploring Melaka’s culinary corners, 7 Pescados delivers a satisfying, memorable meal worth trying.

Their food is amazing and cheap! Ordered their salted egg squid, plain rice, and fish, and my partner & I devoured them all. Still had a bit of take out of the squid since the portion was definitely big for the two of us. Did not expect to like it here that much but we did! We'll definitely come back once we visit Melaka again. The only downside are the head hunters nearby who will follow you around and force you to dine in on their stall
