Overhyped for the Aesthetics, Not for the Food November 22,2024 The Baboon House is often praised for its Instagrammable interior, but unfortunately, my experience with the food was very disappointing. The special menu of the day was supposed to be a Pulled Pork Burger, but what I got was a sliced pork or bacon with the skin burger instead. The pork was not tender, and they even included the skin, making it unpleasant to eat. I asked the waiter about it, and instead of addressing the issue, there was no real effort to fix it. This is unacceptable, especially when you’re paying a premium price for what was promised on the menu. The only real attraction of this place is the design and ambiance. Yes, it’s visually appealing, but a restaurant should be about both food and experience. People come to dine, and the quality of food should match the price. You’re essentially paying for the aesthetics, not the food. If a place wants to be recognized as a great restaurant, it should deliver on both food quality and ambiance, and service. Wouldn’t recommend it if you're looking for good food. If you just want a nice photo spot, then maybe but don’t expect much from the dining experience

The food is nice and the service is good. The staffs will pay attention to customer’s needs and always ready to serve, especially the staff named Dennis. The environment is nice, with many greenery decorations in Malacca traditional “long house”. With the live band at the weekend. Highly recommend to pay a visit with your love one.

My daughter and I had a delightful experience at The Baboon House, a charming restaurant nestled in the heart of Melaka. The setting is absolutely stunning—an old, rustic house filled with lush greenery, creating a serene and aesthetic atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a hidden oasis! We decided to try their special Pork Belly Burger and a pasta dish, complemented by a local dessert. The food did not disappoint! The burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned, while the pasta had a great balance of flavors. The dessert added a sweet local touch to our meal, rounding off the experience beautifully. The staff were equally commendable, offering us a warm welcome and attentive service throughout our visit. If you're in Melaka, The Baboon House is a must-visit spot. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a unique dining experience, this place will leave you impressed!

Intriguing restaurant/bar located in a traditional peranakan house, it felt like being in an art gallery. There are many vegetarian options available, and there are also many EU beers that are hard to find elsewhere. There's so much greenery around, it's really pleasant.

A great place for a quick and tasty burger. I had the lemongrass chicken burger, and it was juicy, with fresh toppings and a soft bun. The sweet potato fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Service was fast, and the staff were friendly. It’s a no-frills spot, but if you want a good burger without the fuss, this is the place to go. The lemongrass drink was a nice treat, though a bit sweet. Overall, a solid choice for a casual meal.
