4 weeks agoCompared to Redang, quite touristy and developed. Extrovert might enjoy here. The water is minty colour. Turtle and shark are available. A boat operator suggest me to come on August. The water is crystal clear (10 m view). Try to snorkel at Pulau Rawa (not the Johor one haha) which is consists of 5 small islets. But avoid come on March.

3 weeks agoOur 2D1N trip to Perhentian Island was incredible and I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quick tropical getaway. It’s only about a 30minute boat ride from the jetty but if you want to avoid the crowds, try going during the week..it makes a huge difference. The island feels like pure paradise. The water is so clear, the greenery is lush and there are coconut palms everywhere. The whole vibe is just so relaxing and tropical. Whether you want to chill or explore..there’s something for everyone Snorkeling is a mustdo while you’re there. Id suggest bringing some snacks and water for the boat trip because you’ll definitely work up an appetite. The marine life is amazing..so many colorful fish and they’re surprisingly friendly. We didnt get to see any turtles this time but hey..that just gives us an excuse to go back. Even if you’re on a budget, you can still have an awesome time. Stock up on snacks before heading to the island or check out Kampung Nelayan for affordable stays. Camping is also an option if youre feeling adventurous. I’m already itching to plan my next trip back n I’m sure you’ll want to add Perhentian to your travel bucket list too. So pack your bags..dont forget the sunblock and get ready for some serious tropical bliss!

a year agoI can’t say enough magical things about this island. The fact that you have to take a bus and ferry here makes it feel remote in all the best ways. I spent a week on Long Beach at Oh La La and for a whole month spent in Malaysia, Perhentian’s was the absolute highlight.
