2 weeks agoQuite a nice experience where you can view the majestic temple and some other buildings within the clan property. A lot of additional information is available to read through in the rooms underneath the temple which details the history, culture, and current endeavors of the Khoo clan. A guided tour may be nice in order to gain further insight about the many intricate details of the architecture.

3 months agoI thought by paying 15 Ringgit for the entrance fee, i can explore the whole buildings inside the complex. But turn out tourist only can explore the temple, which is super grand and beautiful and also give you a lot of information about this place. If you like history, so this is a must visit place for you. Inside the temple museum you can enjoy the classic "Theow Tjiu Ban" or Chinese Opera playing on screen.

6 months agoThis is one of the must visit place at the UNESCO world heritage city of Georgetown! It is steep in history, as this building complex was build more than 100 years ago, dated back and completed at the year of 1906. I was so mesmerised by the intricacy, and the elaborately detailed design and architecture of the building. Even if you don't like history, you must be impressed by the workmanship, stone carvers at those times! This building is actually belongs to a hokkien clan, Khoo. It is still standing strong and solid, and there was no sign of structural damage, cracks or decay, even after so many years! Keep up the good work in maintaining it! There is a small entrance fee to visit this place, RM10 per person. It is opened from 9am to 5pm. Access from the main entrance at Cannon street.

7 months agoWas here on a light rainy day but enjoyed it nonetheless. The guided tour is well worth the fees. It gives you context and a deeper appreciation for the mansion. I actually quite enjoyed listening to the stories of the people who lived in the mansion and their contribution to Penang in the past and present.
