a week agoWe visited here on our last day in Cameron Highlands. After checking out early, we drove to this point as a detour on our way back home. The drive up here was challenging as the narrow roads often meant we had to stop to allow the cars from the opposite lane to squeeze past. We got our tickets from the office near the beginning of the trail where we had to register ourselves before entering the forest. The walkway has plenty of sinages and informative material on the mossy forest, so it was nice to pause and learn about the natural biodiversity of this place. There is also a lookout tower where you can climb and soak in the gorgeous vista of the mountainside with an unobstructed 360-degree view because the platform at the top is above the canopy. I think this is my favourite spot. As the clouds rolled by the forest are covered with mist, and you can feel the dampness and the droplets of water. The entire hike takes about an hour, and it is a fun and easy one as the path is clearly laid out. It was a great activity to mark the end of our long weekend at Cameron Highlands.

a month agoThis is a great way to explore the cloud forest with some great views. With pitcher plants and other flora growing naturally you get to experience what a natural cloud forest is like without needing to hack through the forest with a knife. The bird life was loud.

a month agoBeautiful place truly. One of a kind experience but here are some things to consider: 1. Inaccessible by Grab so you'll have to get a tour operator who will overcharge you 2. The entry to the forest itself is 30RM per head which again is a little steep considering it's less than a km hike. 3. If you're going to walk there, i suggest mentally preparing yourself for a steep incline that cars can't manage Good experience overall

a month agoUnless you get a guide to do a trek inside the forest where he will properly show and explain things, then it isn't actually worth it considering also the price we paid! As we were pretty unprepared and with only one day at the Cameron Highlands, we just got a 4x4 driver (RM35/p) in front of Nova hotel (where they usually gather), who basically just drove us to the spot, collected the entrance fee in cash (RM30/p for foreigners) and then he let us walk on the wooden boardwalk on our own (a 20-min return walk). As Mossy Forest is the highlight of the area, and considering that all the farms/attractions (strawberry, bee, cactus etc) were of no interest to us but rather to families with kids, we could just have skipped Cameron Highlands entirely!
