a week agoOne of the most memorable experiences in our lives. We were lucky enough to stay in the Escoy room, featured on the website, and it’s even more WOW in real life. Room, food, facilities were all excellent as were the staff, especially Mr Fazli who couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. Ever woken up in a hotel room and thought you could be anywhere in the world? That’s not the experience we wanted and the Blue Mansion delivered “good different” in spades. We loved it.

a month agoThis house was once ranked among the world's top ten mansions and is over 120 years old. If you love history and appreciate historical mansions with a blend of Eastern and Western influences, this is a great place to visit and take photos. You’ll need to purchase an entry ticket at the entrance, which costs 25 per person. Guided tours are available every one to two hours, where they explain the history of the house and its past residents. If the main gate is closed, it means you’ll need to wait for the next guided tour session before they open it. After the tour, you’re free to explore and take photos on your own.

3 weeks agoIn my opinion, the tour of the mansion comes highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoy the 45 minute rundown of the mansion's history and the many artifacts on display. It is amazing to see how well the mansion was restored and maintain to this day, and with novice interest in architecture, I'm blown away by the historical aesthetic of the place. Special mention to the tourguide, Sally, who provided a very informative, educational and most importantly entertaining guide of the mansion. You can tell she has a lot of passion for this beautiful building and its history. Highly recommend any history buff to conduct the tour.

3 months agoBeautiful place. The blue mansion is without a doubt an incredible place, it looks amazing from the outside and the inside. It has a lot of history and you can feel it during the visit. Self guided tour It’s a complete tour , it starts outside in the garden and then it takes you around the house. It explains you on detail about each room. However, they don’t provide headphones, it costs you as the normal tour and it mentions some areas which you can’t see properly because is exclusively reserved for hotel guests. So in reality you just see the hotel from the outside , main lobby , and common areas.

a month agoCheong Fatt Tze’s Blue Mansion is a striking heritage landmark in George Town, Penang, offering a glimpse into the life of one of the most influential Chinese merchants of the 19th century, often referred to as the “Rockefeller of the East.” This prized residence definitely went through years of meticulous restoration to shine again in its former glory, holding a slice of history unknown to many, even local Malaysians Today, the mansion operates as a boutique hotel and museum, whereby most areas are restricted to in-house guests only. Tickets costed RM25 via walk in on the left side entrance with self guided audio tour downloadable on your phone - headphones recommended to fully indulge whilst on the go. Follow through the experience by dropping by the outdoor cafe at Mangga - their pancakes are delicious! Great to hop in on the Crazy Rich Asians and catch a glimpse of the set in the movie too!
