3 weeks agoA very Michelin experience. I tend to travel to get great food and if you do, please visit this restaurant. I had no complaints at all. If I had to say anything, is the desert could have a tiny bit more soy to it(though the desert was beautiful, taste wise and visual. Otherwise the service, atmosphere, food and wine parings was a 9,9/10 for me. Thanks to chef and the team

a week agoChose to have dinner at Beta to end out last night KL on a high. The service and ambiance was excellent. There’s a lot to be said about the food. The inspiration was to take us through a journey around Malaysia. Highlight from the North: Perksam a duck base dish was delicious. The yeast breast was so unique and the chew texture with a touch of sweetness was just comforting. East: the beef short rib was our favourite. Scallop was average. For South(the mains) we opted for the fish and the lamb option and added the beef as extra for additional 250RM. The mains were fantastic and both cooked to perfection. Our only disappointment was the Miyazaki waygu dish. Firstly the only option was to have it cooked medium rare which is ok for most steaks but when the intramuscular marbling is so high it’s better cooked to a medium so the fat is well rendered and releases all of its juices. Secondly the sauce and the veg that came with steak were exactly the same as the lamb. Did not go well with the beef at all. For a Michelin star restaurant I’d expect each protein to have its own unique accompaniment. For the price we paid it was very disappointing. The wine pairing was average. We had 2 wines and 2 cocktails. Again I’d expected a little more wine and less cocktails given the menus but it was still very interesting as a pairing. Would I dine again..no but did I have a lovely evening yes. Thank you to the staff that looked after us

3 months agoOur dinner at Beta was nothing short of amazing, from the food to the impeccable service. Every course was outstanding, with unique flavours incorporating local Malaysian ingredients. Fine dining in Malaysia often lack well-balanced seasoning in their food, with priority for presentation over taste, but Beta KL nailed it. It was a special occasion and the team kindly printed a family photo for the occasion. A dessert on the house was also provided. Impressive! Highly, highly recommend.

2 months agoImpeccable service and amazing food! The seasoning was very well-balanced with a multitude of flavours in one bite. I would highly recommend getting the abalone rice. For non-drinkers, the mocktail also complemented the meal well. There was also a pleasant surprise for us by the staff! Truly an unforgettable dinner and experience for all of us.
